Greg Arde, 38, joined Chalupsky Properties in 2008. His area of focus is north of the Umgeni River where he markets a portfolio of A-grade properties, mainly industrial, ranging from 300m2 mini-factories to 6000m2 warehouses and vacant land.
Greg is a firm believer in the expansion of Durban along the northern corridor, towards the city’s new international airport and Richards Bay. The area is home to many high tech businesses that rely on modern logistics and integrated supply systems. His approach is simple: "I’m honest, hard working and imaginative. Business thrives in the right environment. My aim is to be part of creating that environment by finding you the right property."
Before joining Chalupsky, Greg was a full-time journalist for 18 years, most recently as The Mercury Business Editor. Greg graduated from Natal Technikon with a three-year national diploma in journalism. He worked most newspaper beats on various titles and gained invaluable experience covering South Africa’s first free elections in 1994.
His assignments have seen him travel widely in Africa and Europe. Greg has freelanced for radio and has written for foreign newspapers, academic journals and magazines. In addition to writing regular articles (many on property) Greg writes a popular weekly column of political satire. Greg is married and has a daughter. His hobbies include photography, walking and travel.
