Brand New AAA Grade Warehousing in Prospecton

Category Market News

In these difficult times there is good news in the port related logistics market. There is a new development of AAA Grade warehousing in Prospecton.

The most sort after industrial and logistics property in the greater Durban area is located from Maydon Wharf in the Port down the narrow corridor of land between the sea and the N2 highway. This narrow corridor includes Congella, Jacobs, Mobeni and parts of Clairwood and runs all the way to the end of Prospecton where the Amanzimtoti River creates a natural boundary to what is known as the Southern Basin of Durban.

Prospecton has enjoyed the benefits of growth of the Toyota operations within the neighbourhood and as such demand for property on the whole has seen an increase of late. Prospecton is known as Zone 3 by transporters that divide the Southern Basin into Zones for purposes of trucking costs from the Port to a facility.

The facility is currently near completion with a substantial investment in redeveloping an old site. The total warehousing space available is 24 294 sqm on a site of 30 367 sqm. The warehousing has been designed to be divided into units or let as a whole. There are four units planned measuring approximately 4 600 sqm each including offices and ablutions. Each unit will have two dock levellers under cover and on grade roller shutter doors. There is a shared yard space suitable for superlink reticulation and dedicated parking bays for each unit.
